My Hero
I never got a chance to mention one of the most wonderful things about this past litter. Our family welcomed our 6th, and final, baby into our family on November 19th, 2018. A sweet baby girl after 5, yes 5, sweet baby boys. To add to the craziness, we delivered her at home with a midwife, an assistant, and my loving hubby standing by. We were all thrilled to have her, of course, and both baby and I were feeling great. But very early signs of labor started for Molly in the afternoon of the 20th so we knew that puppies would be joining our new family very quickly!
Sure enough, early on the morning of the 21st, Molly’s first puppy dropped. This began a very busy twelve hours for my husband, who spent that entire time playing midwife and caregiver to both Molly and myself. What a memory!
This sweet man pulled it off somehow, and managed to keep everyone in good health and spirits, no small feat! I think he pretty much earned a superhero cape, don’t you?
Add Christmas to the mix and you can see why we didn’t think to get a picture of him with his new daughter and these puppies when they were younger, read “would sit still”. So what we have is this terrible snap shot to commemorate my husband’s modern-day-knighthood. Forgive the quality of the photo, but everyone take a minute to be impressed with him. We certainly are.
Until next time.
