Labrador Puppies – worth the wait

We get asked constantly: what makes a Kindred Pup puppy worth the wait? For us, it starts long before any puppies arrive – months of research into pedigrees and genetics, health testing, and watching temperament and “mama readiness” in every dog we consider breeding. By the time a litter is born, we’ve usually been planning for it for a year or more ourselves.

We hear from a lot of families looking for their next Labrador, and we’re grateful for the ones who take the time to move from a first inquiry to an actual reservation. We never want to breed more puppies than we can find loving homes for, and we especially love placing puppies with families who’ve owned a Labrador before and know what the puppy stage really looks like.

If you’ve reached out and haven’t heard back within a day or two, please follow up – we’re a small, in-home program, and sometimes messages slip through.

We know waiting for a puppy isn’t easy, especially when you’re ready now. Timelines shift – a litter we estimate for one season sometimes lands in the next, because breeding is Mother Nature’s call more than ours. What we can promise is that we won’t rush a match just to fill a spot sooner.

Our best advice, if you’re puppy-shopping anywhere: be picky about your breeder. Ask about health testing, protocols, and how easy they are to reach. You’ll live with this dog for well over a decade – it’s worth taking the time to find the right fit, even if that means waiting a little longer.

We’re based in Tennessee, and we travel back to Colorado several times a year to meet families and deliver puppies there. Beyond that, we’re able to arrange delivery to most places – so wherever you are, reach out and we’ll figure out what’s possible.
