Manding Training Begins To Take Root
Manding is one of the things these sweet pups have begun to learn here at Kindred Pup, and I certainly hope that our Kindred Pup families continue the process! Have you ever been at a park and seen a beautiful dog that you’d just love to meet and pet, only to be jumped all over? This new dog friend means no harm, and certainly doesn’t intend to send you to the dry cleaners; He just wants to let you know he’s friendly and that he’d like a nice chin rub. It’s us pesky adult humans that mind this behavior. Especially when the dog is an 80 pound labrador with muddy…

Thoughts on training
There are as many different thoughts on training techniques as there are trainers and wading through them can be intense! But which way is best? I say the answer is, within reason, whichever one you will actually do. Success comes from consistency. Our dog Ginger, who is close to 8 years old now, is affectionately referred to in our home as the Dowager Countess, paying homage to Downton Abbey. For those of you who haven’t seen the show, the Dowager is a cantankerous old woman who is simultaneously annoyed by and feels responsible for how the entire family runs. Ginger feigns annoyance with any inconvenience and shows herself the Matriarch…

Outside Play with Mama Molly
This unusually warm January weather has been so wonderful for our sweet winter pups! they’ve enjoyed their outdoor time immensely, and settle in for nice long naps afterward. It’s so fun to watch them discover new toys and get a little faster trot each time we are outside. Even though winter and pups (and my boys, eh hem) have all but destroyed our lawn, they don’t seem to mind the dirt. They tumble and get back up again without hardly skipping a beat! The pups are becoming less and less “molly’s babies” and more and more “molly’s playmates”. I just can’t tell you how fun it is to watch…

Celebrate!
All of our sweet pups have been spoken for and are very soon able to head to their new families! As a breeder you always hope (and do your best to ensure) that pups will find amazing homes with owners who will love them as much as you do. I am so happy to feel that this is the case with this litter. We are right in the throws of Puppyness over here, doing some training and making sure the pups get plenty of attention. We began “manding” training recently, and all the puppies have done wonderfully! I’ll try to get some pictures up for you soon of that process.…

Puppy Shenanigans
Six weeks and these pups are busy! They are loving all their new toys and really enjoying their daily one-on-one time. It’s been tough to take as many pictures as I want to since they’re pretty quick now and before I know it they are out of frame! So, forgive the informal nature of these shots. I thought our Kindred Pup Family would want to see what their sweet puppy-babies have been up to.

Puppy’s first bath
our puppies hit their 6 week birthday and we celebrated by playing outside in what snow was left over. really, it was more mud than snow. but they romped and played and had a ball. I apologize for not having gotten better pictures/videos, but as you can imagine, lots of puppies plus mud was quite the mess! It was difficult to stop and say, wait! let’s get that shot! All that mud made for the perfect time to give the pups their first “real” bath. Up until now, the pups have gotten by with Mama Molly licking them and us occasionally wiping them down with a warm damp cloth. But snow…

Puppies still available
as of now, we have 2 females and 1 male available. we offer pick spots based on the order in which we receive your deposits, so if you’re interested let me know! Thank you to everyone who has already reached out and complimented these sweet dogs. even our sire’s breeder said these are just the “perfect” yellow pups. and we agree. They are cozied up in their beds now, after a nice full meal and some play time with mama. She is turning into more of a playmate than before and they adore chasing her around. They’ve done well with our other dog, ginger, too. I think these pups will…

Puppies + Christmas = Sweetness
what’s more sentimental than the holidays? all the sweet smells and yummy goodies baking and gifts and cold and movies and presents and memories…. it really is the most wonderful time of the year! but for us, it’s extra sweet. that’s because we get to share it with our 6 children, our sweet dogs, and 7 gloriously cute pups. So, we are enjoying the lights on the tree, soaking in a crackling fire, sipping hot cocoa and watching Christmas movies with puppies on our laps. The pups are halfway to old enough to head home with you! Are you prepping for your new arrival? They have taken to their crates…

Puppy Food!
the pups had a wonderful time experiencing their first puppy food – a mush mix which looks absolutely revolting to my littlest boys. the room was filled with my children’s sweet voices alternating between “how can they want to eat that, mom?” and “look how cute!” all things considering, the pups didn’t make too bad of a mess. I’m glad we have a few more weeks with these guys, because they sure are fun! They run and toddle and try to jump a little before toppling over into a pile, rising undeterred and pouncing again. Sometimes they pounce onto another pup. Sometimes they pounce onto nothing at all. They climb…
